1. Scope & Provider

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern the use of the PLAYALONGXR application, the playalongxr.com website, and associated portals (collectively, the "Service"), operated by:

By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

PLAYALONGXR is a VR fitness platform that turns music into workouts. The Service includes:

• VR Application: Available on Meta Quest. Detects music via Shazam integration and provides workout maps synchronised to songs.
• Artist/Label Portal: Allows artists and labels to submit tracks for review, book playlist placement slots, and view performance statistics.
• Mapper Portal: Allows community creators to upload workout maps, accept mapping assignments, and earn payouts for their work.
• Daily & Weekly Workouts: Curated playlists with new content on daily and weekly schedules.

3. Account Registration

To use certain features of the Service, you must create an account. You may sign in via:

• Google authentication
• Email sign-in link (passwordless)
• VR platform authentication (Meta Quest)

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activities that occur under your account.

4. Portal Users (Artists, Labels & Mappers)

4.1 Track Submissions (Artists / Labels)

• Submitted tracks are reviewed for eligibility. There is no guaranteed placement — quality and fitness suitability determine curation.
• Eligible tracks may be booked for playlist placement slots at published pricing tiers.
• Submission statuses include: under review, eligible, not eligible, and on hold.

4.2 Playlist Placement Bookings

• Bookings are processed via Stripe. By completing a booking, you agree to pay the specified price in EUR.
• Booking statuses: pending payment, confirmed, active, completed, cancelled, refunded.
• A booking becomes active at the confirmed start date and runs for the purchased duration (in days).
• Abandoned checkout sessions expire automatically and the booking is cancelled.

4.3 Mapper Contributions

• Mappers may upload workout maps and receive assignments from the platform.
• Uploaded maps must conform to the Playalong map format (version 2) and include a valid Apple Music ID.
• Mappers may earn payouts for completed assignments, processed via Stripe Connect.
• By uploading a map, you grant Andreas Eichert a worldwide, non-exclusive licence to use, distribute, and display the map within the Service.

5. Music & Content

• PLAYALONGXR relies on users' own music streaming services. We do not provide or stream music directly.
• Music detection is powered by Shazam (Apple Inc.) to match playing audio to workout maps.
• Workout maps are synchronised to music but do not contain audio recordings.
• Playlists may be managed and synchronised via Spotify integration.

6. Payments & Refunds

• All payments are processed through Stripe, Inc.
• Prices for playlist placement slots are displayed in EUR (inclusive of applicable taxes where automatic tax calculation is enabled).
• Refund requests are handled on a case-by-case basis. Contact us at info@playalongxr.com.
• Mapper payouts are processed via Stripe Connect. Mappers are responsible for their own tax obligations.

7. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

• Upload malicious, infringing, or illegal content
• Attempt to access other users' accounts or data
• Manipulate or abuse the track review or booking system
• Reverse-engineer, scrape, or misuse any part of the Service
• Upload maps containing copyrighted audio or unauthorized content

8. Intellectual Property

• The PLAYALONGXR brand, logo, application, and website are the property of Andreas Eichert.
• User-submitted content (tracks, maps) remains the intellectual property of the respective creator, subject to the licence granted in these Terms.
• The unified map schema and format are proprietary to PLAYALONGXR.

9. Availability & Changes

• We strive to keep the Service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access.
• We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time.
• Pricing tiers for playlist placement may be updated. Active bookings will not be affected by price changes.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by law:

• The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind.
• We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the Service.
• Our total liability is limited to the amounts paid by you to us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

11. Third-Party Services

The Service integrates with third-party providers. Your use of those services is subject to their respective terms:

• Stripe (payments and payouts)
• Apple / Shazam (music recognition)
• Google / Firebase (authentication and infrastructure)
• Spotify (playlist integration)
• Meta (Quest platform)

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany. The courts of Freiburg im Breisgau, Germany shall have jurisdiction, unless mandatory consumer protection rules require otherwise.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The latest version is always available at playalongxr.com/terms.
